Boujaad Rugs originate from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. What sets them apart is the use of reds, pinks, oranges/tans, and purple hues. These rugs also feature irregular geometric patterns where the appeal lies in the uniqueness of the designer’s craftmanship. They are create using the typical knotting techniques practiced by the Berber tribes – the knotting technique employed for the making of these rugs is a tighter knot resulting less wool being used per rug. This enables the weaver to create the intricate geometric patterns that Boujaad rugs are famous for.
